Lucia Kossárová is co-founder of PROVIDA and program BUDDY, which thrives to ensure that every child not growing up in their own family has at least one person they can trust, and can lead an independent life. As an expert for impact and quality measurement she focuses on child protection, and how to best set up the system for monitoring and evaluating the impact for children, volunteers, Centres for children and families and the entire BUDDY community.
She studied social sciences at University College Utrecht and international development at John Hopkins SAIS in the USA and Italy. She worked for the Council of Europe and the World Bank, and later as a consultant on issues of health and social development in various countries around the world. She obtained PhD from the London School of Economics in London, where she also worked as a senior research analyst for the Nuffiled Trust.
She focused on the quality measurement and improvement of health services for children and young people. In 2017 she decided to bring her expertise back to Slovakia and she is fully dedicated to the growth and sustainability of program BUDDY. In her free time Lucia loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
